What is Residential Care?

Residential Care Homes are homes where residents receive assistance with their activities of daily living. This includes assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, eating, walking, etc. Other services provided include: preparation of special diets, supervision in taking medications and observation of physical and emotional health. Residential Care homes are operated on a 24-hours basis to provide residential care accommodations, personal care, social, occupational and recreation services.

Residential Care Homes are licensed and inspected by the State Bureau of Health Facilities the same division that inspects nursing homes and hospitals.
